Koscheck To Make Return At UFC 135 Against Matt Hughes

In less than two weeks time, Josh Koscheck will be making his highly anticipated fishing games return to the UFC octagon at UFC 135. Koscheck, who hasn’t been seen since suffering a broken orbital bone at the hands of Welterweight Champion George St. Pierre in December of 2010, will be taking on the legendary Matt Hughes, in the co UFC betting main event. Here is a preview of their fight.

With the recent news that Diego Sanchez had to step down from his fight with Matt Hughes, due to a broken hand suffered in training, fans and experts alike began to wonder who would step in to fight Matt Hughes. It took little time for UFC president Dana White to announce that Josh Koscheck had been cleared to fight and would take on Hughes at UFC 135.

This fight will feature two fighters that have been out of the octagon for a longtime. On the one hand, as we already stated, Koscheck hasn’t been in an octagon since December 2010. On the other hand, Matt Hughes hasn’t been in the octagon, since November 2010, when he suffered a knockout defeat, at the hands of long time rival BJ Penn.

In theory, this fight has the potential to give the main event, featuring Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones defending against Rampage Jackson, a run for its money as the fight of the night. Koscheck (15 and five) is one of the most hated UFC fighters ever, as his trash talking has rubbed fans the wrong way. Conversely, Matt Hughes (45 and eight) similar to current Welterweight Champion George St. Pierre is a fan favorite. Hopefully, Hughes like GSP will be able to stop Koscheck in his tracks. Otherwise, if Koscheck wins, he will certainly want a rematch with GSP.
