It doesn’t get any bigger than this. The final event of 2011 later on this month with UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem, the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and two of the biggest and strongest heavyweight fighters in the world locked in the octagon for the final main event of the year. After over a year away from the octagon, the former UFC Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar makes his return against another former MMA champion in Alistair Overeem, who after dominating several different promotions over the years finally takes his act to the UFC.
As a former Pride and Strikeforce champion, Overeem has an impressive list of credentials, but the pay head bookie critics have never called him the best because in order to be the top dog, you have to prove that you can beat the top dogs, and in this sports the top dogs are found in the UFC. Finally, after a decade of dominance, Overeem now takes on his biggest challenge yet, as he makes his UFC debut against a former champion in Lesnar, who according to his words feels better than he ever has. The reason for that is after dealing with several infections that led to a battle with diverticulitis, Lesnar is finally back at full strength and eager to prove that he belongs at the top of the UFC ladder. Despite his short career in the sport, Lesnar looked absolutely dominant when he was at his healthiest, and after taking the time to move past that point in his life and get healthy, he is set to return with a vengeance as the sports betting favorite for this fight.
